A simple strategy clicker for idle moments and easy narrative. Let’s find out what a queen would go through in her first weeks of founding a new colony. A prototype that serves as my first Godot project!

The Depth will soon-ish unlock new stages of development in the colony's life. I have not tested it much, especially as you get into fall and winter. I intend to add a "Hibernation" feature to skip to the following spring, and advancements that jump the colony’s progress by orders of magnitude during times of the year one would expect ant colonies to flourish. The end goal is to see how many “royalty” you can pump out in the second year. None of that is implemented yet. A real ant queen needs to go deep and get established enough to survive the winter, then in the following spring she starts producing "royalty" who will fly out and make their own colonies. The buttons for those reproductive children don't appear until the second year.

This is a prototype to learn how Godot works. Why not share it? I'm focused primarily on user interface design and the basics I’ll need for future games. I'll start adding art and animation when the mechanics have proven themselves. I always get side tracked on the art and animation, so I'm working backwards this time. The development “tools” can be found using the Left Quote/Tilde key 🖖
